I took this picture at sunrise from the small pier in front of our cottage. I originally only wanted a picture of the sunrise. However, I was surprised and pleased to find the swans and was more then happy to include them in the picture. Click on image for larger view.

The Chesapeake Bay is mainly known today for it's recreational boating opportunities. However, there are many people who still make their living harvesting the resources of the bay. Pictured below is a Chesapeake Bay work boat. You can tell by it's outline that it was "bay built". Click on image for larger view.

The original cottage was built by our Grandparents in the 1920's. My parents added the front porch in the 1950's.
The Lucas and Hayes families added an indoor shower and finished the upstairs in the 1970's. We continue to make improvements to the cottage every year.
