There are many things to do in the Adirondacks. Hiking is one of my favorites. I sometimes like to do a challenging High Peak. However, on many days a 3-4 hour hike will do me just fine. I recently discovered a beautiful nearby hike on the Mossey Cascade Trail. The entrance is hard to find and the trail is unknown to many visitors. I save this hike for busy weekends so I can avoid the crowds. This is a picture I took from the Mossey-Cascade trail. More then half the trail is along side small streams like this one. Don't you wish I would tell you how to find the entrance? Click on image for larger view.
Another favorite hike is on the North Trail of Giant to Owl Head Lookout. One of my favorite views from the Lookout is shown below. The hike is 5.2 miles from the parking area and is of moderate difficulty. Click on image for larger view.
During the winter, skiing is a popular activity. Whiteface Mountain, shown below, has an extensive trail system and is a popular destination for Alpine Skiers. Whiteface Mountain is a fifteen minute drive from our home. Click on image for larger view.
