Ellena and I rented a house for a week in Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island in
early May, 2003. This was our first time there and we really enjoyed the area.

The house looked out on a lagoon which was about 50 feet from
the deck. One morning we had a visitor in the lagoon.

Later in the day our neighbor had a visitor. The reflection
gives this picture an impressionistic look.

There was about a five minute walk from our rental house to the beach. We
couldn't
afford a beach front mansion. Maybe next year. It was a little too early for
swimming for Ellena and me. However, it was just right for Marcy.

The beach was great for walking.

Tony took tennis lessons at the Stan Smith Tennis Center. The
location was beautiful and the instructors were great.

Center Court
I wasn't quiet ready for Center Court. The following picture
shows one of the practice courts I used. They really worked us hard. One of the
drills involved returning serves form the ball machine with a speed of 100 miles
per hour. I missed a few of these. The ball machine is the contraption in the
forecourt.

There was a nature preserve with a trail system nearby. We went
for several hikes through the preserve.

I was fascinated by the diving birds at the beach. I think they
were some type of pelican or fish hawk.

We invited our two boys and their families to join us at Hilton
Head. Unfortunately, they all had to work and could not make the trip. We plan
to visit Hilton Head Island again and hope they can join us next time.
